Kathy Tinney is determined, courageous and has an empathetic drive to create interior spaces for differently abled people. Since 1984, Kathy has lived with a progressive autoimmune disease, Multiple Sclerosis and was medically boarded after 25 successful years of interior office design service at Liberty Properties. Kathy achieved a BTech in 2009 and an MTech Interior Design in 2014. Both studies encompassed environments for people who are differently abled, particularly people with visual impairments. New research into lighting and colour came to the fore required communication and to increase disability design specifications. In 2020, Kathy put down her bonsai cutters and launched the Interior Design Disability Guide blog.
