Dona Sauerburger, COMS, lives in Maryland and has been providing orientation and mobility services to people of all ages in their own communities for many years. Her special interests include teaching street-crossing skills, and on this topic she has co-authored a chapter in the Foundations of O&M and two online courses, done research, and presented around the world
Jolene Troisi has been an Orientation and Mobility Specialist and Teacher of the Visually Impaired for 19 years, working in a variety of settings from urban to rural, and with a variety of populations from birth to adulthood. What Jolene loves most about her job is that every student and every situation is different and each brings the challenge of compassionately teaching independence, interdependence, and self-determination skills to all of those unique scenarios. Jolene also enjoys teaching current and future TVIs and COMSs through presentations at conferences, webinars, and courses in the Vision Studies program at the University of Pittsburgh. Jolene currently lives in Parkersburg, WV, and in her free time she teaches and performs with the Mid-Ohio Valley Ballet Company, joined by two of her three daughters
